For some it may be all about large windows, for others a vaulted ceiling or even a teeny tiny nook – whichever architectural character makes you feel most zen, employ it in the master suite.Make your bed a den of dreams with lots of pillows, cushions and throws of varying materials and textures. In the summer months you’ll want to minimise the fuss and opt for clean sheets without the frills, but in the winter we can’t get enough of faux fur, chunky textures and fluffy covers.
A snuggly rug, good idea as it is to have all-wood floors to make things easier to clean, in winter, your feet won’t take too kindly to stepping on to a hard, cold floor (or a splinter!). Make the getting-out-of-bed experience a whole lot more forgiving by treating yourself to a plush rug – there’s nothing like swinging out of bed and twiddling your toes in those fluffy fibres.
Put up a panel, replacing an old headboard is one of the easiest ways to give a bedroom a new look. Try a row of decorative fretwork panels painted inky black in place of a regular headboard- it’ll make a dramatic backdrop for the bed and showcase luxe bed linen beautifully.
